No. He's Chouji. It wouldn't be the same... he's a great guy, chubby or not, and if girls couldn't see that before, then they don't deserve him. I agree with Shikamaru... he's a good guy. Even though I could never like him as anything more than a friend, I believe that a girl should like him for him, not for his looks. That's why I love Shikamaru - for his personality.

Looks wise, he looks better this way. But as many of you said, its the personality that counts so it doesn't matter if he's fat or skinny. But can you imagin a skinny Chouji eating like his fat self, that would be funny, I'd ask how he would keep the weight off.
