Chie, Arin, and Katsu have past away, over the 10 years Tenchi was gone.

This is supposed to be Tenchi at age 7, though he looks older than that, and yes he�s wearing black nail polish, it�s a tradition for mimino sapiens to paint their nails black for funerals. As you can see, his parents weren�t always heartless� It all started after Rinaishi died of her illness, they took up an investment in the TTK project by funding money for it, in hopes to make a life form that would be, in their eyes, perfect. They went to earth later that year, and bought a house where they had Tenchi stay at� They weren�t always around for him, and as they got lost with their projects, they grew colder, and even abusive towards him. Tenchi, in turn, grew to hate what they were doing, not only because he didn�t agree with it, but because it took his parents from him�

They get there name from the fact that they live under water with small gills behind their ears and grow fin wings on there backs. They're not used to fly in the air, only to help them "fly" in the water. They also produce a light upon entering the water for some reason. As you can see in the piccy, a lot of wild alien creatures also inhabit it. The one in the water is like a large slug, while the on in the rock is like a climbing turtle.
