Patlabor Mobile Police

In the late 20th century, advances in robotics led to the invention of the Labor, a class of giant robots used for construction. The inventing of the Labor, however, also led to Labor crimes, where any bad guy could use them to help fulfill their evil purposes. And so, in the year 1999, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department established the Special Vehicle Department which uses Patrol Labors, or Patlabors, to fight fire with fire. In the SVD resides the Special Vehicle Section No. 2, which to the public and the rest of the SVD is nothing but a bunch of misfits that don't do things by the rules. Sure they don't operate by the book, Section 2 is still the best they've got.
