nice_girl,why do you think that he did it just for power.Just to tell u all that don't know,Sharingan has two phases,plain Sharingan and Mangekyo Sharingan.Itachi killed his best friend to get this.His clan felt that he was the best but it took him a while to get it over with.He saw this as a weakness so to measure his strength,he killed the rest of them.Itachi kept Sasuke alive because he says that he wanted to fight him when he has the same eyes as him self.But everyone knows that he loved his brother.Ok
