in japanese the syllables would be reversed, not individial letters. Every kana is one or two syllables. So, in reality, obito backwards is TO BI O, you rearrange the SYLLABLES, not the letters. Also, tobio would sound stupid and would also be obvious, so Tobi can be directly related to Obito through name alone. Then there's the eye thing and the clumsiness, it all fits. feel free to dissagree.

Obito was crushed underneath a HUGE boulder and lets be honest: the kid just learned how to use his sharingan. There was no way he was moving that thing by himself.
