i'll tell you. it was sakura ending their relationship over a guy. ino knew about sakura's interest in sasuke, but she didn't make it a big deal. she chose to remain friends with sakura. sakura on the other hand declared she and her rivals.

You're a little off. In case you didn't notice, Ino was perfectly fine with keeping her crush a secret. She would've just let Sakura be happy with Sasuke if Sakura hadn't started the rivalry and fueled up the anger.
